Can I play the snake game on my phone?
Yes. The game is responsive. On touch devices, swipe on the board to steer. Eating food also buzzes if your phone supports haptics.
Does the snake game work offline?
Gameplay runs in your browser with no game servers. After the page loads, you can keep playing without a connection. Scores and skins stay on your device.
How do I control the snake?
On desktop, use arrow keys or WASD to turn, Space to pause or resume, and M to mute. On mobile, swipe on the board to turn.
Are my high scores saved?
Your best score, daily best, achievements, and unlocked skins are stored locally in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server to play or save progress.
What is the daily challenge?
Every local day gets a unique maze of walls and portals. Play it as many times as you like and share your best score for that date.
Do I need to download the snake game?

Do I need an account to play?
No. There is no sign-up. High scores, achievements, and skins are saved in this browser on this device.
How do combos work in this snake game?
Eat another apple within a couple of seconds to stack a combo multiplier. Miss the window and the multiplier resets. Combos are the fastest way to climb a score without filling the whole board.
What game modes can I play?
Classic is an empty board. Obstacles add walls as you grow. Portals let you warp between two gates. Daily is a seeded maze tied to your local date. See the game modes page for how each one plays.
How do I unlock snake skins?
Classic is available immediately. Striped unlocks at 25 points in one run, Dotted at 50, and Rainbow at 100. Unlocks stay in local browser storage.
Can I wrap around the walls?
Yes. Turn on wrap-around walls in the settings before a run (not in Daily, which always uses Classic speed and a fixed maze). The snake exits one edge and enters the opposite side.
Does Snake Game Play have ads or in-app purchases?
The game is free. There are no pay-to-continue prompts and no loot-box skins. We use Google Analytics to understand site traffic, as described in the Privacy Policy.
I lost my high score. Can you restore it?
No. Progress lives only in your browser. Clearing site data, switching devices, or using a private window starts a fresh cabinet. We cannot recover a local save.
